AI Email Writer
Say what the email needs to do, or paste the message you got, then pick the kind of email, tone and length. You get a subject line and a ready-to-edit email.
What the Email Writer does
Most emails are hard not because of length but because of tone: asking for a refund without sounding rude, chasing an unpaid invoice, saying no to a colleague, or apologizing to a customer. The Email Writer drafts the whole message for you. Describe the situation in a sentence or two, or paste an email you received, and you get a subject line, a greeting, a clear body with one point per paragraph, a concrete next step and a closing.
It runs on Llama 4 Maverick, an open-weight model from Meta, through a cloud inference provider. The tool uses only the facts you give it. Missing names, dates, order numbers or amounts appear as placeholders like [order number], so nothing invented slips into a message you send.
How to use it
- Describe the situation: who the email is for, what happened and what you want. To answer a message, paste it into the box and add a line about how you want to reply.
- Choose the kind of email. New email, Reply to a pasted email (it answers every question in the original), or Follow-up or reminder for a message that got no answer.
- Pick a tone: polite, friendly, formal, firm but polite, or apologetic.
- Set the length: short (two to four sentences), medium (two or three paragraphs) or detailed.
- Press Generate. Replace the placeholders, then copy the email into your mail app. Regenerate for a different version, or Continue in chat to adjust a line.
Tips for emails that get answers
- State the outcome you want. "I want a replacement, not a refund" or "I need an answer by Friday" gives the email a clear ask.
- Include the key facts. Dates, amounts and reference numbers in your description go straight into the email instead of placeholders.
- Use firm but polite for second attempts. It stays courteous while making the deadline and the next step plain.
- Keep apologies short. The apologetic tone takes responsibility once and moves on to the fix, which usually lands better than repeated sorries.
- Read it as the recipient. Before sending, check that names, dates and promises are right and that nothing sounds colder than you meant.
Example
Situation: Ask my landlord to repair the kitchen heater, which stopped working last week. I already called once and got no answer.
Settings: New email, firm but polite, short.
Subject: Kitchen heater repair needed
Dear [landlord's name],
The heater in the kitchen of [address] stopped working last week. I called on [date] but have not heard back. Could you please arrange a repair and let me know by [date] when a technician can come?
Thank you, [your name]
Limits and good practice
- You are the sender. Read every draft before sending. The tool does not know your relationship with the recipient or company rules.
- Legal and money matters. For disputes, contracts or formal complaints, the email can help you phrase things, but it is not legal advice.
- It cannot send email. The tool writes text only. It has no access to your inbox and cannot send, read or schedule messages.
- Private details. What you paste goes through our server to the model provider to write the draft. Use placeholders for sensitive data and fill them in your mail app. See our AI privacy and safety guide.
FAQ
Is the Email Writer free?
Yes. No account is needed. Each draft uses one message from your free daily allowance, which the chat and all tools share and which resets every day.
Can it write emails in other languages?
Yes. Describe the situation in your language and the email is written in that language, including the subject line. To write in a different language, say so in your description, for example "write it in English".
Why are there words in square brackets?
Those are placeholders for details you did not provide. Replace them before sending, or add the details to your description and generate again.
Can it help with a job application?
Yes, for short messages such as a follow-up after an interview. For a full cover letter, use the chat or read our guide on AI for job search.
Can I write an email in a conversation?
Yes. Open an email prompt in the chat and refine the draft with follow-up requests. To check your own email before sending, use the Grammar Checker.
