What the AI Writer is for

A blank page is the slowest part of most writing jobs. The AI Writer gets you past it: describe the text in a few lines and get a complete first draft to shape into the final version. It works for blog posts, product descriptions, website About pages, short speeches and toasts, personal letters and card messages, or anything else you describe.

The tool runs on Llama 4 Maverick, an open-weight model released by Meta, served to us by a cloud inference provider. It is told to use only the facts in your brief. Where a detail is missing, such as a price, a date or a company name, it leaves a placeholder in square brackets like [opening hours] rather than making something up. You see at a glance what still needs filling in.

How to use it

  1. Write your brief in the box. Say what the text is about, who will read it and which points must appear. You can also click one of the example briefs to see how it works.
  2. Choose the type of text. Leave it on "Whatever the brief asks for" or pick a blog post, product description, About page, speech or toast, or a letter or card message. Each type has its own shape: a blog post gets a title and subheadings, a product description a feature list.
  3. Pick a tone: friendly, professional, persuasive, casual, warm and personal, or witty.
  4. Set the length: short (around 150 words), medium (around 350) or long (around 700). Treat these as targets; the result can land a little above or below.
  5. Press Generate, or Ctrl+Enter in the box. When the draft appears, copy it, press Regenerate for a different take, or choose Continue in chat to keep refining it in a conversation.

Tips for a better first draft

  • Name the reader. "For first-time home buyers" changes word choice and detail more than any tone setting.
  • Give real material. Product specs, the story behind your shop, the three points your speech must hit. Your own facts make the result less generic.
  • Say what to avoid. A line such as "no exclamation marks, no jargon" works well.
  • Generate twice, then combine. Regenerate gives a fresh version; often the best text takes the opening of one draft and the structure of another.
  • Edit in the chat. Continue in chat and ask for targeted changes: "shorten the second paragraph" or "write three alternative headlines".

Product description for a stainless steel water bottle that keeps drinks cold for hours, has a leak-proof lid and fits in car cup holders.Product description, persuasive, shortCold water at the bottom of your bag, not on the bottom of your bag. This steel bottle keeps drinks chilled through a long day, and its leak-proof lid means you can toss it in with your laptop without a second thought.
A short toast for my parents' 30th wedding anniversary dinner. Mention their first date at a bus stop in the rain.Speech or toast, warm and personal, shortThirty years ago, two people waited at the same bus stop in the pouring rain. The bus was late. Neither of them minded, and the rest of us owe our existence to that delay.

Limits and honest use

  • It is a draft, not a finished piece. Read it aloud, cut what does not sound like you and check every claim before you publish.
  • No live facts. The model cannot browse the internet, and its training data ends at a cut-off date (August 2024, according to Meta's model card). Do not rely on it for current prices, news or recent events.
  • Be truthful in marketing copy. Never present AI text as customer reviews or claim benefits you cannot back up.
  • Mind what you paste. Your brief is sent through our server to the model provider to generate the answer. Leave out passwords and private data you would not share. See our AI privacy and safety guide.

FAQ

Is the AI Writer free?

Yes, with no account. Each Generate uses one message from your free daily allowance, which is shared with the chat and the other tools and resets every day.

Can it write in languages other than English?

Yes. Write your brief in your language and the draft comes back in that language. Meta officially supports 12 languages for Llama 4, including Spanish, Hindi, Indonesian and Portuguese; others usually work too, with less even quality.

Is the text original?

The model writes new text from your brief rather than copying a source, but it can produce common phrases that appear elsewhere. For anything you publish, edit it into your own voice.

Are my drafts saved?

The tool page does not keep a history. If you click Continue in chat, the brief and draft move into a chat that is stored only in your browser.

What if I need something the options do not cover?

Describe it in the brief, or open the chat with a ready-made prompt: start a writing prompt in the chat. The Social Media Post Generator and Email Writer handle those formats in more detail.
