Prompt library

Tested prompt templates for common tasks. Fill in the blanks in square brackets, then copy the prompt or open it straight in the chat.

A good prompt saves you several rounds of back-and-forth. This library collects prompt templates for the things people most often ask an AI chat to do, sorted into eight categories. Each template is a complete instruction with blanks in square brackets, like [topic] or [audience], that you replace with your own details.

How to use the library

Open a category, find a prompt that fits, and either copy it or press Use in chat to open it in the Llama chat, ready to edit. Replace every bracketed blank before you send, and delete any part that does not apply to you. The same library is also available inside the chat under Prompts, so you can insert a template into any conversation.

Getting more from a template

Templates are a starting point. Llama answers better when it knows who the text is for, what you want to achieve and what a good result looks like, so add a sentence of context if the template leaves it out. If the first answer misses, say exactly what to change rather than starting over. Our guide on how to write prompts explains the method behind these templates.
