This policy explains what information Llama.Online ("we", "us") handles when you use the website llama.online, including the chat, the AI tools, share links and the contact form. Llama.Online is an independent website and is not operated by Meta. We designed the service to work without accounts and to keep as little about you as possible.

Summary

  • You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name.
  • Your chat history is stored in your own browser, not on our server.
  • Your messages pass through our server to generate answers; we do not store their text.
  • We use a hashed form of your IP address to apply daily message limits and prevent abuse.
  • Ads are provided by Ezoic Inc. and its partners, and we use Google Analytics for visitor statistics.

What happens when you send a message

When you write in the chat or use a tool page, your browser sends the message, the earlier messages of that conversation (so the model has context), the model you selected and any assistant or tool instructions to our server. Our server forwards this request to our AI gateway, and the gateway passes it to a third-party inference provider that runs the Llama model and returns the answer. Requests are currently routed through OpenRouter, which forwards them to one of the cloud providers that host Llama models. These companies receive the content of the request in order to generate the answer and handle it under their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not store the text of your messages or of the answers on our server. Our AI gateway keeps technical logs for each request: the model used, the size of the request and the answer, the time, and a hashed form of your IP address. We use these logs to run and troubleshoot the service, to control costs and to detect abuse. Please do not put sensitive personal information, such as passwords, ID numbers or health records, into the chat.

Images you attach

If you attach an image to a message for Llama 4 Maverick or Llama 4 Scout, your browser makes it smaller and sends it with that message. The image goes through our server to the inference provider for that answer only, and we do not store it. A small thumbnail is kept in your browser's chat history so you can see it later; it is not uploaded anywhere else, and images are left out of shared conversations.

Chat history in your browser

Your conversations, your own assistants and your settings (such as theme, text size and language) are saved in your browser's storage on your device. We cannot see or access this data. You can delete single chats or all of them in the chat, export them to a file and import them on another device. Clearing your browser's site data also deletes them.

Shared conversations

If you press Share, a read-only copy of that conversation is uploaded to our server and published at a link of the form llama.online/s/ plus a code. Anyone with the link can read it. The page is marked so that search engines do not index it, the copy cannot be edited, and it is stored until it is removed. To remove a shared conversation, send us its link through the contact form. To limit abuse, the number of share links per visitor and day is capped using the hashed identifier described in the next section.

Daily limits and abuse prevention

To give every visitor a fair daily allowance of free messages and to block automated abuse, our server counts requests per visitor. For this it uses a hashed identifier: your IP address combined with a secret value and turned into a one-way code (a salted hash), so the stored value does not reveal the address itself. The counters are needed only for the current minute and day and are deleted regularly. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and secure.

Contact form

When you use the contact form, we receive the subject, your message, any screenshots you attach and, if you choose to give it, your e-mail address. The e-mail address is optional and is used only to reply to you. A protection check against spam runs when you send the form. We keep messages as long as we need them to handle your request and to keep a record of it, then delete them.

Server logs

Like most websites, our web server records standard access logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, the browser's user agent and the response status. We use these logs for security, to fix errors and to understand load. They are rotated and deleted after a limited period.

Advertising by Ezoic

Llama.Online is funded by advertising served by Ezoic Inc. and its advertising partners. Ads appear around the content of our pages, never inside AI answers. Ezoic and its partners may use cookies, similar technologies, your IP address and device information to show ads, measure them, limit how often you see them and, where permitted, personalise them. Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, a consent banner lets you accept or refuse such uses, and you can change your choice later. Ezoic's practices are described in its privacy policy, and its partners are listed on the advertising partners page. Ezoic's own privacy information is also shown at the end of this page.

Analytics by Google

We use Google Analytics, a service of Google, to understand how visitors use the site: which pages are viewed, how people arrive, the type of device and the approximate region. Google Analytics uses cookies and loads on every page of the site, including the chat. It does not receive the text of your chat messages. Google's handling of this data is explained in the Google Privacy Policy. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your data with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Cookies and browser storage

Our own site uses browser storage only for functions you use: your theme, language and chat settings, your chat history and your saved assistants. Cookies from Ezoic, its partners and Google Analytics are described above. You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings; this also removes your local chat history.

Children

Llama.Online is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, for example through the contact form, contact us and we will delete it. Teenagers should use AI chat with the guidance of a parent or teacher.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we do not run accounts or store chat messages, we usually hold very little that can be linked to you. Your chat history is under your control in your browser. For ad-related choices, use the consent banner or the links in the Ezoic section. To make a request, write to us through the contact form.

How long we keep data

  • Message text and images: not stored by us.
  • Gateway technical logs and server logs: kept for a limited period, then deleted.
  • Daily limit counters: deleted regularly once the period they cover is over.
  • Shared conversations: until they are removed.
  • Contact form messages: as long as needed to handle your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for how your data is used, we will make it visible on the site.

Contact

For questions about privacy or to make a request, please use our contact form. We do not have a support mailbox; the form is the way to reach us. Include your e-mail address in the form if you would like an answer.
